HELLRACER 6, SATURDAY OCTOBER 30, 2010

H6 ALLEYCAT BIKE RACE
Saturday October 30, 2010
Veteran's Park Pavilion
Register 4Pm, Race 5-9PM*.
  • Point based system, MUST HAVE DIGITAL CAMERA (OR PHONE WITH CAMERA) to document your point tally.
  • Finish is 9PM at the Dutch Goose, *points reduction for late arrivals.
  • Must enter in teams of TWO, entry fee is $20 per team.
  • Participants must be 18 or older.
Might be wise to bring charger and/or batteries for your camera, you have a
4-hour window to accrue as many points as possible, you don't wanna reach the finish and have no proof of all the stops your team hit.
Race goes off rain or shine, put lights on your bike. Get stoked.
Let the good times roll,
Thee WBC.

Hellracer 666

Heckracer will be happening this year, so get ready.
A few key points-
1. This will be a two person team event. (so find a friend, unless you are a two-headed monster.)
2. At least one of the teammates must have a camera phone or smart phone.
3. Teams will be racing for a set time e.g. 5pm-9pm. You will be overloaded with things to do, whichever team gets the most done (points) wins. During said time you can do whatever you want. (go home and nap, go to a bar, get on facebook, or work on your manifest.)
Time, entry fee, and a few other things are still undecided, so check back here for updates.
Let me know if y'all have any questions/comments/ideas/problems.
love, a41

Bicycle Eye

Photograph by ED GLAZAR
I met Ed and his fiancee Amy at the vintage bicycle swap a couple weekends ago. They live in NYC but visit Idaho on occasion. Ed's photography appears frequently in numerous cycling publications like COG and Urban Velo and a few of his shots from their last Boise visit appear HERE. Good stuff.

Black Metal?

The stupid quotes kinda detract from the radness but enjoy it for what it is- (which shouldn't be a problem since you S.W.E. anyhow).

S.W.E.

I saw this in Paris. It's funny.

Beret and Baguette Ride.

Again, I posted this on the Scuglia Fab blog but figured it may be okay over here too.
Saturday I missed
this ride that celebrated Frenchness, or rather the cliche'. It's the parisian version of the Tweed Ride that takes place in many different cities.

    Cycles Alex Singer.

I put this up on the scugliafab blog but figured y'all might like to see this too.
Last week I took the Metro to Levallois Perret to visit Alex Singer Cycles just outside the peripherique of Paris. They've been building bikes for three generations since 1936. From what I understand the shop employs the builder, Olivier Sucain, and one young apprentice. Olivier is the son of builder Ernest Sucain who acquired the business from his uncle in 1964. Sorry about the quality of these photos. They were taken with my iPhone.

    Sorry George.

    Cancellara wins Paris-Roubaix.
Second win for the Swiss cyclist. I was really hoping to see Hincapie get one, though.
    Chris, were you there? -P77

    You're welcome.

Spotted this lil love note in the back of the Boise Weekly on Wednesday. You're welcome, whoever you are; glad you enjoyed the race. -P77

"Drink milk, haul ass and live to dance another day"...

A large round of applause to Thee WBC, The Dutch Goose, Test Tube Kitty, Boise City Green Belt System, Prestige Skateboards, The Boise Bicycle Project and you: the fine citizens of our fair city. Our 5th annual Liverdance Alleycat was fast, furious and as always, super fun. In the absence of C43 (he's currently studying contemporary miming in France and couldn't be with us) I was relegated to being the loud one. With that, I apologize for such an anticlimactic finish to such a great afternoon. I don't particularly care for any more than two people looking at me much less standing in front of a throbbing throng of sweating cyclists and having to speak out loud. I'm sure my kudos to the 60 year-old Mom that raced (and finished) were drowned out by tequila-swilling rowdiness so I want to congratulate her again. I forgot her name but she's in one of the pics down there, smiling and stoked. We had 67 racers and most of you finished, I noticed that Triton came in 19th and then again at 32nd. Good job aaand... good job. "Drank at all the stops" placed 41-44, forever securing a place in my heart as true champions. Top Three Women were: 3. Mary Ann, 2. Alex and 1. Captain Fran, way to go ladies. Dudes and top finishers all came in right around an hour: 3. Ian, 2. Manbaby, 1. Mooch. Nice work lads. I wish I had more/better pictures from the cereal killing. I noticed that Mooch ate his Lucky Charms by hand then guzzled the milk, maybe that was the difference maker. Anyway, thanks again for being so cool and I hope you all had as much fun as I did. Chris we missed you but the boys stepped right up and pulled off another great WBC production (oh yeah, and The Iceman says "heyn"). Thanks Warlocks.
