10.17.38 - 11.30.07

If you were a kid in the States in the 70's, Evel Knievel's passing bums you out.I never owned one of those cool EK windup motorcycle toys like my cousin but not a day went by I didn't wish for one, still kinda do. A master of two-wheels, he apparantly rode anything and everything, breaking at least 40 bones in the process. FORTY. Pour some on the curb, son.
They broke the mold with this one.

I had the motorcycle Knievel with the thing you pull and it'd take off and wheelie. I do believe it was the stunt cycle. I remember his feats on TV growing up and possibly even a holiday special. As american as Dukes of Hazzard and apple pie. Sad Times.

I went to the jump/launch site in twin this weekend. the mound of dirt is still there. the mormons have built a temple close to it for obvious reasons.
